> So anyway, would you concider the AS VCOs and VCFs superior to Doepfer's? Well, I personally made that choice, and this was my reasoning: I like the sound and features of the RS90s & 95s more than the sound of the a110, the a111 I rule out due to the CEM chip, even though I do like the sound of it. Though, at this point CA3080s are out of production, and those are all over all of our modules, so I guess everybody's about to be SOL in the repairs department. I don't particularly like the sound of the AS LPF, but maybe I'm spoiled with my minimoog. If I need to use a LPF, I usually use the ASys multimode LP out (I should probably sell my LPF module...), so yeah, in general I like the sound of the vanilla modules from ASys better than the vanilla Doepfer modules, but Doepfer has so much other weird stuff that ASys can't touch, like the buchla-ish things, noise/808 module, wasp filter, etc etc. FWIW a friend of mine who has a small Blacet system came up for a visit awhile back, and remarked about how much he prefers the sound of his Blacet VCOs to my RS90s. I haven't had much time on a Blacet system, but I intend to now ;0) It really comes down to personal preference. If I were you I'd post to both lists (ASys and Doepfer) and ask if anyone on there with a system is local to you, and see if you can't pay them a visit! -Brandon
