ok i hate to complain but this is the one doepfer module i had problems with. the EF
works 'ok' but the sound quality of the amplifier section is disappointing by even the most
lenient pro audio standards. it amplifies as it should but it takes a bite out of the sound
quality of what you're sending it. also it has so little headroom that dynamic program
material needs to be compressed before being presented to the a119. unfortunately, this
in turn makes it more difficult to get a good response out of the envelope follower.

i'm using a blacet input module now and while not 'perfect', it's working better, especially
in situations where i'm bussing signals into my a100 from a high output neve console,
where now at least the engineer no longer scrambles around looking for a problem the
moment any well-recorded sound hits the a119.

that aside, 90% of my system is doepfer for a reason. just that the a119 is the runt of the
litter, imho, so i found another solution, no problem.
