Doepfer

hello everyone,

after years of pure analogue music making i thought i'd try to automate 
some of my doepfer stuff by sending cv's from a software sequencer.

i know analogue synthesis, but very very little about midi.

can someone maybe recommend a midi to cv interface?

among other things, i'd like to be able to do a kind of software lfo 
thing, where slow sine shapes are generated by the computer and work as 
lfo's on cv inputs, and i'd want the use of the midi-cv channels to be 
freely assignable. i read something about the doepfer mcv4 that sounded 
like port 1 can only be used for note on/off etc.

is there something compact with maybe 4-6 channels that takes any 
controller type as its input, and makes nice smooth cv with small 
increments?
