Doepfer

While this thread might be off topic, I can't help myself but share some of 
my experiences regarding percussion synthesis. In a nutshell, after five 
years of trying different rhythm machines, samples, and synthesizers, I can 
say this:

For quick fix, TR-808 is the best analog sounding drum device ever, and if 
you do not look for instant gratification, synthesize your own percussion 
sounds on modular of your choice (Doepfer preferably:-)

Even using samples of famous rhythm machines available free on the Internet, 
when fed into modular, is pretty good solution.

Modular is really swiss knife (or sword) when it comes to making music.
