hello, << How about a poll about the VC short wave radio idea ? >> Thanks, there was one and it was decently successful, I just decided to extend the conversation :) Please see: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Doepfer_a100/surveys?id=11800722 I also have a little AM/FM radio sitting around. This is just as good an idea as a shortwave radio and would be sufficient for me. Mine is portable and has handles. The reception is average. It has a 1/8 headphone output but its somewhat noisy and hard to get the levels to properly match the A-100. And unfortunately, before modification, no CV :( I wrote Dieter about this and here is his reply (I think its OK to post to the list): "I believe that this more a DIY project. Here in Germany one has to go through a very complicated and time-consuming admission process if one offers any product in the radio frequency range (especially radio receivers and transmitter). The charges are very high so that it makes no sense from my point of view to offer such a module. The only solution might be to buy a product that is licenced already and offer a kit to include this product into the A-100 (especially a suitable front panel with output socket, similar to the multimeter). In this case we were not responsible for the radio licence. But as a complete A-100 module it would make no sense." So I can see the reasons why we may be stuck without this module. But the kit form is a good idea IMO! Your thoughts? Thanks, Shawn Cleary schism@traumatik.net www.analoguehaven.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
