I just tried it. It is possible of course, but the resulting sounds are not that interesting.
I tried it with a couple of fast LFOs and with two VCOs. I never heard the wiard noise ring 
sounds so I have no reference. But to me it sounds like you can better spend your money 
on a ring modulator.
