well, i'm just trying to relay the events as they happened. it was a party, i was drinking the
buchla-provided wine, i had the opportunity to chat with don, and that's how it came out; i
didn't plan the encounter ; )

to be honest, when i said smaller, i had in my mind the whole handful of today's modular
makers. at that moment, i specifically had wiard on my mind, because i wanted to regale
don with the wonderful tale of grant's dream that brought the world the borg filter.

i posted the story to this group, because i am quite interested in the development of new
and exciting vco's, and people here seemed to be excited a little while ago by the prospect
of a doepfer 259-inspired module. i hoped to pass along a bit of optimism.

yes! i didn't play with it too much. as others have said, it was not the right atmosphere to
be able to judge sound quality. but it was quite fun when i did fiddle with it. i was most
impressed by the sequencer and its concentric rings of lights... very nice when one
parameter was tracking the other. also mind-bending was the ability to hit the patch reset
button. this is not something that i actually miss in modular synthesis, but it was stunning
just because it didn't fit in with my brain's concept of what a modular can do.

cheers,
soggy
