you can use the a132 as an audio vca indeed.
i do this from time to time and i'm pleased with the
results.

the a105 has enough gain to allow distortion at the
input stage. but for me the most interesting thing about
the a105 (and the mono/poly) is the resonance of the filter.
sub-basses are a snap with a self-oscillating ssm2044.
