8x8 will be a problem because of the 3U limitation. We could use smaller
potentiometers and knobs (those planned for the keyboard controller) but I'm
not sure if 8 potentiometers/knobs one on top of the other will work with
3U. In any case the output sockets cannot be located below the knobs but
e.g. on the right side.
