I am not sure what I said, I started with one module idea then went 
off on another tangent as I went to read Bakis' poll. I would like a 
matrix patcher, let me clarify...

I don't really like fumbling around with matrix patching in the EMS, 
it looks cool but those pins are annoying (small, easy to loose, 
different resistences). On the other hand I have seen modern 
replacements that could work for some people:

I much prefer the ARP version of matrix patching but those cherry 
switches or similar might be hard to find in reasonable quantity:

For reference, a user modification of one such device played behind

Its 10 by 10 with the appropriate jacks.

So space seems to be the other issue...
