Re: a simple mod for the a-119 & a-131 response to CV

2004-12-31 by Modular Fan

hello,

<< The overall result is a better bass response and a
(to my ears) creamier and directer sound.
Of course this is all very subjective but for the 95
eurocents per IC I was willing to try..And because the
IC are not soldered on the board you can easily do
this mod yourself.. >>

Thanks for the mod info, I would like to try it out.
Also would you mind if I add your mod info to the DIY
section of my site, www.analoguehaven.com ?

Right now its sort of basic but after the New Years I
need to find time and upload all kinds of mods.

And of course the obligatory: please remember that
mods void all warranties, the page is present only as
a guide NOT fact and you should double-check the
procedures...because right now I already know of some
mistakes that need to be corrected.

<< While I was testing the new op-amps in my a-119's,
I stumbled over something less cool.
It seems that my two a-131's are differently
calibrated in their response to CV. Does
anyone else here have this problem too? >>

No, mine appear to be pretty similar unless I'm just
off...but it should be noted they came from the same
production batch.

Did you get your A-131s at the same time?
How long have you had them?

Thanks, Shawn
