Re: atx psu ?

2005-01-11 by synthtrader

hello,

<< hi, i'm sure that question was asked already, i just couldn't
find an answer in group archives. if someone can post a pinout
layout i'd be grateful. btw. why is the original rack so
expensive??? it's not the framing? is it psu? all the best cheers >>

In general the many parts inside the rack are not inexpensive. Yes
the PSU is one part of the expense for such a quality supply
(reliable, high ampere, low noise) and for the foreign markets these
need to be rewired by hand. Some users have tried to save money by
putting the cases together themselves and in the end spent just as
much.

I am not sure where you live but at least in the USA (and surely
other distribution points outside of Europe, such as Canada and
Japan) the high international shipping costs contribute to the
price. These things are sent over via air, not boat, so shipping
something of that size and weight isn't exactly cheap. Add customs
charges and you can understand the final sale price.

Still I find the pricing inline with competitors making cases of the
same high quality. Some are a bit more, some a bit less but all of
this modular gear (irrespective of brand) is of great sound quality
and worth the money...

Thank you,

Shawn Cleary
