Re: [Doepfer_a100] doepfer vs.....???

I find the A100 to be very excellent instrument,
it is a sonic delight, and Dopefer is a wonderful
company. I think I understand what you are basically
after, but I feel like I would be doing a disservice
to compare it to an instrument such as a Mini, which
is a great instrument as well. Almost comparing a
truck to a car. To the other modulars, it has a great
price, it's compact, and Doepfer offers a huge
assortment of modules. Analog Systems are quite nice,
I own one of those also, and I'm quite happy with it.
Synthesizers.com look great too. Wiard and Blacet are
amazing. More money puts you into MOTM, Serge, and
Buchla. In terms of musical bias, I tend to feel
Doepfer strives to be the most versatile, appealing
from mainstream electronic to experimental work.
But I would not attempt to compare it to the Voyager,
totally different instruments.
Good luck!
