you could just float the thing.  it's so light that it would probably 
be held aloft by all the wires you have in it.

that is if you've already bought one.  if not i'd say buy jacks from 
mouser or all electronics.com and make a little multiple box to sit 
on or near your synth.  you can drill holes for 10 jacks and insert 
switches in a few places allowing you to divide up the 10 jacks into 
smaller "sub-multiples" or use the monster 10way for that really 
wacko patch.

i've done this and it's helpful.  make it small so it will fit into 
your suitcase with the rest of your "to go" patch scheme when you 
close the box.
