Doepfer

First I should correct something I said in my last post:

Obviously I meant around 7 inches deep without the cover or 9 inches 
*with* the cover on and it has been awhile since I measured but I 
think this is accurate, someone feel free to correct me.

Yes, as well as other Doepfer gear. As you know he's very productive 
with music-making and his latest work will have tons of modular 
sounds on it (from several manufacturers).

users list of the a100 and rs-integrator in the vintagesynth

He does use RS Integrator modules in his studio. He also has some 
custom modules and bought Blacet end of last year but I'm not sure 
how much Blacet remains as he sold some. I have sold him some Asys 
modules and we have discussed this. 

But in his A-100 portables he uses primarily (or only) Doepfer 
modules. Look at the markings in the photos below and come to your 
own conclusion. Its hard to see 100% but looking at the style of 
text and knob/jack placement you can determine most even if the 
photos aren't too clear. They appear with black knobs because (like 
some other users) he replaces the knob caps.

I know which modules he has purchased (many) but I will ask his 
permission before posting such "intimate" details to the list as he 
might want to keep some of his sounds a secret.

Let me say that Steve has the "fire" burning inside him as he always 
had and is still working incredibly hard to make good music as it 
seems he has always loved to do (I say "seems" because he's been 
making it forever but I have not known him so long).

The last three photos are from his main studio setup and are months 
old so don't use those as a system reference point.

The first four photos are of the custom racks he used during his 
live set. He had the following to say about the design process:

"Designed by Steve Roach
Propel X stand modified and stabilizing straps by Doug Wellington

This stand uses the Propel X stand which allows any position to be 
locked in as opposed to many stands on the market that only provide 
around 5 locking position holes.  

The stand is adjusted into place to hold the bottom case into 
position and allowing the top case to sit level with the feet on the 
top brace. As the photo shows the "front" brace of the X stand are 
cut off and capped just above the lip of the bottom case, leaving 
enough of the square stock to act as a patch chord hanger.
The stabilizing straps came from Ace Hardware and were drilled out 
to fit the preexisting Phillips head screws that are found on the 
Doepfer suitcase.

The top case can also be repositioned to the same slanted position 
as the bottom case. (See photo)"

I am talking to artists everyday and working their music into my 
site to make it seem less about retail and more about the community
