Yes you are right it does appear similar to the serge, but no more similar than the serge looks like the Buchla that preceded it.

The Serge unit is also a lot more expensive and the feature set is different.

The problem is, it already exist in the Serge world;

The Doepfer looks just a little TOO much like the Serge for my comfort.....
