Thanks for the replys so far. I'm aware of the benefits of a slew 
controll within a pre-MIDI environment. But given the MIDI 
resolution has it's constraints puts a slew lim. them all aside? 
However, if you have a quant. ribbon that you want to sound as a non 
quant. you may use a slew lim. But imagine: you freely slide and 
also tap on the opposed ends of the ribbon, you will want a slew on 
the former but not on the latter. Still hope that the R2M's quant. 
can be stopped.
By the way my question was originally motivated by my personal 
habits: I have NO experience with MIDI so far hence my stupid 
questions. Things getting more complicated when a local dealer draw 
my attention to the data resolution of MDI. (He himself prefers the
