I have a softcase suitable for 3HE gear. I use it sometimes, but my 
softcase is much deeper than it has to be for the A100. I think if you 
find a softcase for the standard frame it will be mechanically ok. 
Putting the rails-front only to a softcase might be a littlebit risky.
