  How's it going?   The first replacement was because I too (dave) melted my 
PSU.  The two other replacements are now being used again since I built a 
custom set of boxes.  I actually could power my system on three PSU2s, but 
using the other two older models means I can have a separate power supply 
for each box.
   As far as time spent on each replacment.....maybe 10-15 minutes, if that. 
   Take off the back panel (6 screws), remove all wires from old PSU, 
unscrew PSU1, screw in PSU2, attach wires, attach panel.  The only thing 
that threw me at first was due to my own lack of electronic experience, but 
it seems obvious now......  the wires coming from the mains switch can 
attach either way to the posts marked "AC Inputs" ( but don't put both on 
the same side!  you'll see if you look at the PCB that there is an 
additional post for each side for connecting a +5V PSU).   Also, if there is 
no GROUND post on that end of the PCB you can attach the GREEN/YELLOW wire 
from the case to the other end of the PCB where you should find 4 of each 
post (-12V, GND, +12V)  .

  It's almost foolproof.  Just keep track of what wires from the bus boards 
go where or else you got big problems.
