Hi moogy > I'm about to purchase my first modular system and am debating between > Doepfer and Analogue Systems. > Does anyone know which system,if either, would sound close to a Roland > System 100 ? If you are for a System 100, not a 100m, I have to admit, neither Doepfer nor AS are similar to the Roland. I know both Roland Systems quite well, so I think, that especially the kind of userinterface is tooo different. I always did very special sound on the Roland 100, simply because of the haptic way, the knobs and sliders do work. Soundwise neither Doepfer nor AS are very close to the Roland, where the A-103 VCF works on a similar (but not identical) principle as the VCF of Roland 100 does. If I had the money I would buy immediately a Roland 100, even though I do own 6 Rack-Rows of Doepfer-Modules Florian
