A similar question arose last week.
 
Chances are you just have the initial gain on the VCA turned up,
therefore the VCA is not closing when the gate signal is released.

Hey List ...

I have the following modules set up on my beginner system. The problem
must be my connections because all I get is a sustaining note. So I
was wondering if the fellow users could help me out on setting up.

Here are my modules.

(1) A-190 ( Midi in ) - responds to midi, plays notes etc. Seems fine
other than the sustaining note.
(2) A-110 ( VCO )
(3) A-140 ( ADSR )
(4) A-106.1 ( VCF )
(5) A-131 ( VCA )

I also noticed that there were some dip switches on the system bus for
cv/gate. I have removed them since I was not sure exactly what they
were for. As well, I also noticed that I did not even need to
physically patch the a-190 cv out to the VCO(in) it seemed to do it on
its own, not sure if this is supposed to be happening.
