The adsr gives a slow (or quick) gradient from the binary 'on-off' gate
pulse.  This gradient is represented clearly by the adsr's led.  So long as
thats blinking, or fading, on and off, then its fairly safe to assume its
all fine untill that point.

Hey, feeding the output of the adsr into the cv input of the 110 will give
an audiable check that its working.  Youll hear the pitch rise and fall
along with the led, as opposed to the sharp jump youd hear with a gate
signal patched into the cv input.

Then if thats all fine, make sure, as David said, to have the gain turned
right down on the vca.

At evrey step you need to make sure that the correct signal is comming out
of the end of the patch cable youre dealing with.  So much of its error
checking when you get onto crazy patches that are not performing as youd
expect, so its worth learing that now ; )

You can also work back the other way.  Have no leads in the system at all,
and patch one between the vcas input and the vcos output.  No sound should
be heard at the vcas output, untill you turn up the gain.

It all depends where the error is as to which way of checking will give you
the quickest solution, i guess...
