The impression I got yesterday was that the new prototype is *just* of the
touchplate mechanism that can output midi signals. The current design
ethos for the touchplate system is to separate the control (touchplate)
from the "processing" (sequencer, others) to appease the greatest number
of people who have very disparate ideas of what they wanted from the TKB
system.
