RE: [Doepfer_a100] Dumb question/ stuck screw in a-100

2006-01-30 by Gene Schwartz

This sounds interesting - I just don't have experience in this stuff, so I don't know what exists...but I think by this point that it might be stripped also....I'm not sure exactly how to tell. The original owner insists that he didn't put in the modules - they were put in by Enport, when he got it. So it would make sense that it was overtightened (?), but I've probably totally screwed it up by now.

In any case, I've gotten what sound like 3 good suggestions so far, so, thank you!

Also, you can buy "stripped screw remover bits" at a hardware store.
It's incredibly handy to keep at least one of these around. Though your
screw sounds like it's overtightened instead of stripped, the principal
is the same and it should provide enough torque to get it out. Just
make sure you get a small enough bit.
