Hi Olix A lin VCA is used for envelope modulation (the envelope is already exponential). A log VCA should be used for modulations from linear sources, like simple pots, LFOs or velocity control from keyboards. I'd tend to say, if your modular will be more like a typicals standard synth, first by a linear VCA; the log VCA is more for special applications.
