Doepfer

Hello, I am thinking of buying a A-100 Basic Mini System in a larger suitcase and then 
expanding as I fast as I can. Doepfer really seems like the only feasible option for me as 
far as cost/diversitility/etc. I've unfortunately/very fortunately only ever had the 
oppurtunity to play a Serge [both of my roomates had one...for some reason] and have 
been really excited at the idea of owning my own modular. 

I feel anxious purchasing a Doepfer when I've never touched one. It obviously is 
quite different than a Serge, and I don't expect them to be so comparable really. I 
understand that Analogue Haven is the sole Doepfer US distributer which is unfortunate 
because I live just outside of NYC. 

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas for how I can sample a Doepfer A-100, 
in the NYC area, if only for a minute or two. I really appreciate any suggestions anyone 
has. This is nerve-racking experience because I'm so excited to get started since all the 
reading/research points a bold finger at Doepfer, but I feel apprehensive not knowing 
enough hands-on about the product to feel comfortable spending so much.
