Doepfer

It's not so hairbrained !
A few years ago, I built a 6-note keyboard..... each key having its 
own jack socket output, and the unit had a built-in power supply. By 
plugging these jacks into envelope generators trigger inputs and 
having those EGs controlling the outputs of six VCOs, I was able to 
produce perfect polyphonic music, up to 6 notes maximum. 
I now have around 13 VCOs, but not quite 13 EGs yet. When I have 
enough, I'll be building a 13 note keyboard.
Alternatively, one can set up a number of completely separate patches 
and trigger them from each key !
