A-110 Standard VCO tuning

2006-03-31 by Shane

Hello all!
Question regarding the Standard VCOs tune range with respect to how
far you can play up and down the scale. Currently in my system I have
2 A-110 VCOs. If I tune either of them to middle C for example, I
only get 1 octave worth before they go out of tune. I'm still kind of
new to the modular world so maybe this is normal but I thought I
would have more than an octave to work with. I do however think they
sound great!
Here's another bit of info. When I use the Nord Lead 2X(more keys)
to control the Doepfer, I can start at the lowest C and go up the
scale. The first octave is in tune. The 2nd and 3rd octave are no
where near tune, but the last octave is back in tune! Also, when I
tune the VCOs, the tune knob is right around 4 on both VCOs.
One more strange thing happened today. I turned on my system and let
it warm up and when I went to tune it, I had to turn the tune knob
all the way to 10 to get them in tune on both VCOs. That can't be
right can it?
I bought my system brand new and I also let my system warm up for
over 20 minutes. I trigger the Doepfer using an Alesis Micron via the
A-190 MCVS.
 Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Shane
