Hiya,

Yes I recently bought an MOTM-120 Sub-Octave Multiplexer.
The MOTM website says:

$139 kit

I bought the kit via the internet, using my MasterCard.
It was shipped to The Netherlands and Synthesis
Technology charged me for $155. Their orderform adds
$6 for shipping and handling, so it appears there's a
$10 extra for overseas shipping.

As it seems no. Once I thought about ordering some special graphics
adapter for my PA-RISC workstation in the USA. It was to expensive, and
I managed it, that some friends within the USA bought that card for me
and brought it to Europe while their vacancies.

hi!,thanks for answering.
it appears that if i want to buy, say, a MOTM system ,i
have to order each module seperately,so i can avoid
any taxes...right?but this way i will pay a lot of
money to the mail(and i will have to go to the
postoffice to pick up one module, every once in a
while) ...my idea was to order a complete MOTM system
at once(when and if i ever had the money).but it seems
that then i will have to pay taxes...unfortunately.
So,i stay with my DOEPFER...(that is excellent,apart
from the mini-jacks...)

MiniJacks

2001-09-10 by Florian Anwander

Hi Bakis (and others)

> So,i stay with my DOEPFER...(that is excellent,apart
> from the mini-jacks...)
btw: Did anyone think about a modification of Doepfer modules to 1/4"
jacks?

I thought about building some modul panels in the Formant size. I would
have to remove all pots, connectors and switches, which go to the
original panels; The original pots and switches could be used in the new
panel; the pcb had to be mounted separately. Another problem might be
the lettering.

I did neither check the costs, neither did I try. Did anyone of you?

these are working well, and i have no dropouts or something like that,

hi!
and why modify the doepfer modules to 1/4" jacks?a
better solution would be for doepfer,to include better
quality mini-jacks in their modules!(with a small
increase in their prices...)
as for the modification...i don't have the time and
the patience to modify the 40+ modules that i have...

I think, the reason why doepfer can offer the modular at all _is_ the
low price. If the modules would be more expensive, the chances on the
market would be extrem lower (see Analogue Systems...).
