suggestions for A-100 soon to be user

suggestions for A-100 soon to be user

2006-08-15 by necrolooper

Hi
I am taking advantage of the analogue haven 10% discount and having them
build me an a-100 and sound processor from doepfer. I know they know what they are
doing but they are in the U.S and I am in Canada so 10% off is great (dollar exchange)
I am curious about any module combinations that you have on yours that
might not have been thought of thats exotic and gives cool results. I just this week
realized the sale was on since I hadnt been to the site in quite awhile. My bad but
thats that and since I am spending 10000 dollars and since all I have is pictures and
samples on line to decide the final configuration and since the sale ends
on the stroke of midnight august 20th.....ya well I did leave it till the last minute. So
you hardcore users that know your doepfer I would really appreciate any help on
this since the deadline for the discount leaves me little time and it is always good to
get other ideas from users that have an A-100.
I am not building this at home nor will ever try to so you see the finished synth will be
delivered as is. I know a lot of you put yours together...more power to you! so I am
hoping some of you might understand my situation and give me a few configuration
ideas for specific modules that do wild things.

hello,
if you want crazy and wierd sounds, you should include
for sure the a196 pll, the a106 xtreme filter, the
a107 waveshaper.
also, do include the a101-3 vactrol phaser and the
a107 morphing filter for more complex sounds and
unlimited capabilities.
for fatness and classic filter sounds choose the a108
filter and the a105 filter.
for vintage effects include at least one a188 BBD plus
the spring reverb module(a199).and do not forget to
icnlude polarizing mixers, vca's(linear and
exponential), plus many envelopes(all kinds) and
lfo's(all kinds).
as for sequencing: essential is the a160, a161 the
a155+154 combo, plus a VC switch and the a152 octal
sample and hold for more complex results.
best regards,
Bakis.

oops, i mean a137 wave multiplier!
this is, for sure, a great module!
i also like the a136 very much, but you need to
understand its operation in order to get really nice
results!
best regards,
bakis.
