Would it be possible to have an on/off switch for the module so that when you are not using it, it doesn't suck up the 300mA?

hello dieter,
that's a great idea! i would buy such a module for
sure!
and i am also sure that i would prefer the complete
module to buy from you, so i do not have to solder
anything, just to mount the complete module to my
doepfer racks!
i'll create the poll, asap!
many thanks,
best regards,
Bakis.

I'd rather have it off the power supply to begin with. Who knows what
noise it will introduce to it.

Power jack on the front panel, or with a little DIY you should be able
to fit the wallwart somewhere in the case and tap off the AC power...
