"Cynthesized" Doepfer and ASys photos

"Cynthesized" Doepfer and ASys photos

2006-10-22 by laryn91

I uploaded few pictures of my customized Eurorack to the photo section:

1 – I never liked those dull gray Doepfer and the cheesy rubber ASys
knobs. When I got my Zeroscillator, I liked Cynthia's knobs much
better so I replaced all of them (200 knobs!).

2 – The MCV24 LCD display was hard to read and its view field was way
too narrow. I replaced it with a Noritake VFD. Plus it looks very cool!

3 – My Zeroscillator pitch knob had no visual position reference. I
replaced the knob with a 10-turn counting type. It also looks cooler
and higher-tech :-)

I didn't expect that to look as good as it does. Nice. Complements the
aluminum panels.

That looks really nice, do you have ordering info for that knob?

The knobs look amazing! Almost makes the A-100 look more expensive.

Thanks. BTW Chuck, I'm a big fan of your work. Not only is it very
interesting music, but it sounds like you've mastered an impressive
variety of genres and styles, and mastered orchestration and
production techniques. The same skills show in your electronic work.

I recommend anyone new to this or wanting to learn new techniques
beyond the usual popular clichés to try mimicking the sounds and
structures on your Doepfer MP3 page. In the end I always end up with
something entirely different but learn a lot in the process.

Thanks for making them available!

Re: "Cynthesized" Doepfer and ASys photos

I bought them from Jameco for 50 cents each, part number 136240PS:

http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplaylangId=
-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=136240&pa=136240PS

Keep in mind these are ¼ inch US shaft size (6.25 mm) knobs and
Doepfer and ASys use 6mm pots. So the knobs are slightly larger
fitting on the pot shaft. You'll need to be a bit careful putting
them on.
