Poll results for Doepfer_a100

2006-11-06 by Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com

The following Doepfer_a100 poll is now closed. Here are the
final results:

POLL QUESTION: Would you like Doepfer to release an LCD Oscilloscope Module, and, if yes, in what "format"?
[detailed info regarding the module from doepfer: The Belgium manufacturer Velleman has available an LCD
oscilloscope module VPS10 that will fit into the A-100 frame (even suitcase
version). Details can be found here:
http://www.velleman usa.com/us/ enu/product/ view/?id= 522077
We consider to offer an A-100 front panel and power supply adapter (the VPS
requires 9V/300mA) so that the scope can be mounted to an A-100 frames and
powered by the A-100 power supply. Unfortunately the VPS10 requires 300mA
and this current would be taken away from the A-100 PSU. Another solution
would be to supply the VPS10 by a standard 9V wall outlet power supply.

We will probably not offer the complete scope module as we do not get a
better price for the VPS10 than the end user (about Euro 180, i.e. about
US$220) but only the front panel/power supply kit. The VPS10 has to be
ordered by the customer. The installation is simple (4 mounting screws + 2
solder point for the power supply).
Regarding the front panel/power supply adapter solution: the VPS10 has to be
purchased and added/mounted by the user.
Regarding the complete module solution: (much more expensive than the adapter +
VPS 10 as Doepfer will have to charge for handling/dealer rebate/warranty of
VPS10)

CHOICES AND RESULTS
- Yes, and i would want to buy the Complete module solution!, 10 votes, 32.26%
- Yes, and i would prefer to buy the Front panel/power supply adapter plus VPS10 solution!, 11 votes, 35.48%
- Not interested., 10 votes, 32.26%

AW: [Doepfer_a100] Poll results for Doepfer_a100

Dear members,

thank's for the poll. I will ask our front panel manufacturer to produce a
prototype a.s.a.p. As I expect no problems the empty panels will be probably
available end of this year. The panel will contain a multiple with probably
4 sockets that can be connected internally to the VPS10 measuring input. In
this case no special measuring cable (BNC -> 3.5 mm jack) will be necessary.
A little bit of mechanical skills (mounting the VPS10 to the panel) and
soldering will be necessary (2 wires that connect the multiple to the VPS10
input, 2 wires for the power supply). As the VPS10 consumes 300mA even an
external low-cost power supply is possible. Otherwise the 300 mA are taken
from the A-100 supply.

As mentioned earlier I do not prefer the ready built version as this will be
much more expensive than the kit version. We do not get a better price for
the VPS10 than a normal end user but have to take on the warranty and to
calculate the dealers rebate into the final price (i.e. we have to add at
least the dealers rebate and the handling charges to the VPS10 price to
obtain a zero profit).

Best wishes
Dieter Doepfer

Will there also be a new smaller front panel for the spring reverb?

Greetings,
Anton

Yes. The next series will be manufactured with a smaller front panel. But we
still have a lot of modules in stock and I cannot say when the new series
will be manufactured (the A-199 is not a great hit).

Best wishes
