what's happening with the Serge modular users group? need info on the current draw!

2006-11-08 by Bakis Sirros

hello list(s),
does anyone knows what's happening with the Serge
Users group of yahoo?
i have sent a request for membership(after buying my
first serge panel with early 80's serge modules from
ebay...) 6 days ago and still waiting for acceptance
by the group's moderator...
i need to know, roughly, how many mA's these modules
will need, as i have asked my tech to build a PSU for
this serge panel. iknow that the serge modules need a
+12-12 volts PSU. but what is the current draw of each
module? i cannot find this info anywhere, so far...
many thanks in advance for your help,
best regards,
Bakis.

Hi Bakis,

If your system is an early 80s maybe some modules need +6V also aditional to
the +-12V

About the power compsuption, I think you can`t find the exact specs per
module, serge have the PSUs in "per panel" basis (PS2-for 2 panels, PS4-4
panels, an so on), but some panels have 2 psu connectors so they count as 2
panels of power compsuption. For just one panel I bet .5A in each side will
be ok, but go to 1A because I bet you will expand the serge soon.... ;) I
have 10 panels now....

ITOH, what modules you have?

Best Regards,

Josue Arias,

hello Josue,
i have a PCO, Triple comparator, Dual analog shift
register, and Dual mixer, plus the panel has two
custom modules, being another dual mixer and a voltage
processor-joystick.
how can i find out what modules may need a +6volts
supply? the guy who sold me the pnale told me that the
modules only need a +-12volts supply.
btw, group, sorry for the OT...
Josue, please reply off-list.
best regards,
bakis.
