A-141 VCADSR and A-143-2 Quad ADSR

A-141 VCADSR and A-143-2 Quad ADSR

2007-03-30 by patate_le_mage

Hello everybody,
I've just receive those two modules and i'm surprise they don't have
the possibility to take the gate info directly on the bus.
This can make sens for the A 143.2 which can be use as a super-Lfo,
but i don't understand the reason for the A-141 ( there is probably a
very good one ). My question is : is it possible for those modules to
modify that ?
Thank you.
Patrick

I'd just get the bus access module, which will let you patch from the bus to
the gate input.

hello patrick,

yes, it is possible, you just need a customized power cable
(the gate from the bus has to be connected to the switch
contact of the gate input socket, thats all).

best wishes

ingo

Thanks Ingo,
I don't totally understand what you say, my english is not very good,
On the A-141 there is a 10 pin connector instead of a 16 pin as usual
for connection with the bus. Have I to modify the cable or have i to
buy one ?

Hello Patrick, the 10 pin connectors have 2 rows of identical contacts:
1x -12V; 3x Gnd and 1x +12V per row = 10 pins. The 16 pin connectors
add to this: 1x 5V; 1x CV (from the bus board); 1x Gate (from the bus
board)- again per row. I.e. there is no way to get the Gate from the
bus board to the A141 via a standard 10 pin bus connector.

=> Ingo (Selfoscilate) has suggested to take the gate signal from the
bus to the A141's switch contact of the Gate In jack. However, you'll
have to do some Do It Yourself - or finde someone who is willing to do
it for you. If you feel comfortable to solder: It's a quite simple job.

Necessary technical info:

http://www.doepfer.de/a100_man/a100t_e.htm (pin connector layout.)

http://www.doepfer.de/DIY/a100_diy.htm (To locate the switch contact.)

Amitiés, Ingo

Thanks a lot, Ingo,
I'll try the DIY solution.
