Analogue Solutions Concussor modules

2007-04-30 by Silas Johansen

Hi all,

I've just placed an order for an A-155 sequencer to use with my A-100
system, and I'm thinking about adding a few Analogue
Solutions<http://www.analoguesolutions.co.uk/>Concussor modules -
probably one each of BD, SD and HH to start with. Any
opinions on any of these? Should I get 78's, 88's or 99's for BD's and SD's?
They have a couple of demo's on their website, but mostly with processed
modules (e.g. filtered) or lots of other stuff going on, not "raw" sounds
which is what I'm interested in (just to know what they actually sound like,
I can always add filters if I want - much harder to remove them ;)

Also, if anybody happens to have a few mp3's of "raw" concussor modules
lying around I'd love to hear them.

Cheers,

Silas

May I ask what kind of bad experiences? modules failing completely, crappy
build quality, poor sound or something else entirely?

hello Silas,
i have all the Analogue Solutions percussion modules
and use them all the time. (as raw sounds, or
processed)
i like them very much!
but, some of these modules may need additional +5volts
power, that the doepfer PSU does not supply as
standard.
you better ask Tom Carpenter about this first.
i had these modules for about 4 years and didn't have
any problems...(apart from the ocassional minijack
socket -metal pin needing adjustment- problem. but
that is a problem of this kind of minijack sockets and
it can be solved rather easily.)
best regards,
Bakis.
