MCV24 alternatives

Hi group,

In light of the fact that the MCV24 is discontinued I'm considering if
there are good alternatives. I probably don't need all the 24 outputs
that the MCV24 provides, but for a lot of applications I can see the
advantage of having more outputs and more control of individual
outputs than are available on my MCV4.

So, what other MIDI to CV interfaces do people here use? Why did you
choose them and do they live up to your expectations? And how do they
compare to the MCV24 in terms of number of outputs, features, price
and anything else you can think of.

I'll start off by saying I as of yet have no personal experience with
midi 2 cv devices, however I did just purchase a kento pro solo off of
ebay. I eventually want 4 voice poly for my modular, the options for
this are:

Encore Expressionist (has 8 cv outs but does not allow for 4 voice
poly WITH velocity)
MOTM-650 This is a full featured 4 voice poly midi 2 cv, looks to be
the best out and it's in modular form, too bad i dont have a MOTM
PolyDAC this seems to be the cheapest of the 4 voice polys, i've not
heard bad things about it.. but it's 12bit DAC instead of the top
two's 16bit DAC

I think that does it for non discontinued 4 voice poly midi2cvs. I
chose the kenton as a single voice temporary solution. There's a
revised version called the pro solo mkII that has a few extra
features, then there's the kenton pro 2000 mkII which has 2 voices.
All these solutions are under $700.

Did i miss anything (non discontinued)?

I like my Kenton Pro 2000.  I have the mark I, £120off eBay.  I got
hold of the rack ears, drilled a load of holes, wired up some sockets
so now all the outputs are on the front and labelled up.  It now lives
in my synth, all neat and tidy.  the two channels mean I can make
something approximating to duophonic patches.  It is nice and easy to
use and has never given me any trouble and it has loads of flexibility.
