Re: Yahoo! Spam alert...

I just changed all my preferences to "No", and also checked "do not
contact me by mail" and "do not contact me by telephone".

I have to say, though, that any company that adopts an "opt out"
approach to privacy, instead of an "opt in" approach, is extremely
suspect in my book. I'm very unconfortable about being registered
with Yahoo any more. If the forum moves, I'll follow it. If it doesn't
move, I'll consider initiating a new one, possibly on a non-commercial
server such as LUSENET.

Hi Boele

Where you have marketing preferences mine just says Special offers - do not send me any offers.

I expect they are changing accounts alphabetically or something so I will keep checking, thanks for the advice.

Hmmm... First I go to http://www.yahoogroups.com, then I click on
"account info"

Inside the "Yahoo ID card" I see:

Yahoo! ID: bgerkesnl
Yahoo! Mail Address: Sign Up Now!
Password: Change Password

Member Information
Gender: Male
Birthdate: On file
Industry: Travel/Transportation
Occupation: Analyst

Yahoo! Mail Address: Sign Up Now!
Alternate Email 1: productie@walburgpers.nl (primary)
Alternate Email 2: bgerkes@mac.com
Edit your marketing preferences. <- <- <- <- <- HERE. LOOK HERE

Time Zone: +1
Language & Content: English - United States
Prompt for Password: Daily

Etc etc.

Do you see it? Five lines up in my mail?

It IS there. At least on my account info page :-)

Regards, Boele
