Doepfer

Hello all,
just wondering if anyone out there is using the DOEPFER MIDI (DREHBANK AND POCKET DIAL) 
controllers successfully
with OSX?
Specifically I wanted to use with LOGIC 7.2 and MOTION. I plugged the
controllers in but
can't seem to get either programs to respond when I turn the knobs. BTW I do not
currently
have any editor software for these controllers.  Can't they be used in a kind of UNIVERSAL 
mode or something?  I am a newbie so please excuse my inexperience.   Any tips/help/info 
would be
appreciated.
I know that this group is dedicated to A-100 but there really didn't seem to be any other 
"quality" groups to ask this.  If there is I'd love to know where and apologize if this is not 
kosher or if I'm stepping on toes.  Looks like a great group with great info.

Hi

I own Drehbank. As far as I remember the new Drehbank comes with an 
preset for editing XG-Sounds. If you bought the Drehbank second hand 
maybe the previous owner erased all settings (this is possible). To 
setup the Drehbank you definitely need a Windows - either on a separate 
computer or as emulation on the Mac to run the editing software. Since 
it simply requires Windows 3.1 or Win95, I bought a little Pentiumm I 
laptop for 20 Euros, which I use for this (and som other oldest school 
software).

 I am considering the solution that you used but I am going to try to exhaust all possibilities 
to stay OSX or at least OS9 before going PC.  

Looking at the DOEPFER site it seems that something called Sounddiver was available and 
could be run on OS9. 

Is Sounddiver the same thing as the DREHBANK editor that you bought a PC laptop for? 

I also found a EMAGIC SoundDiver Public Beta that I downloaded and opened but at first sight 
I don't think it's what I need.

Any more info/tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

Yamaha an1x - this was described to me a few weeks ago as virtually
untouched, and indeed, that's what it looks like. It looks new. It also has
the last firmware, 1.04.  I paid a premium for it, and so the price is a
little above the the going rate. Hopefully someone will want one in pristine
condition. I'd like to get $375 shipped (I paid $450 a few weeks ago).

I have the following modules for sale:
Doepfer A149-1 and A149-2 - Quantized Stored Random Voltages and Dig. Rnd.
Voltage. I'd like to keep these together. Sells for $220. I'll sell for $160
shipped.

A-131 voltage controlled envelope generator - $75 shipped.

The Harvestman - Malgorithm. Now, this is functionally the same as the
production version, but this is actually a prototype. It looks a bit
different - not quite as fancy (but still nice). $200 shipped.

Sounddiver was the extremely powerful universal synth editor / 
bankloader of emagic. The production/Sales were stopped when Apple 
bought in emagic. I use Sounddiver under Windows, but never tried it 
under OS9 or in the classic environment of OSX. I am not sure whether 
the MIDI interface drivers are working in the classic environment of 
OSX. E.g. I cannot use my network based printers or my USB scanner from 
classic environment :-(.
