Sequencer Help

Sequencer Help

2008-02-17 by henfieldj

I have been looking at Modular setups for a long time, especially Gear
by Doepfer and Analogue Solutions. I presntly have an ARP Solus and a
Moogerfooger setup that I want to use a sequencer with. I am looking
at the A154 and A155 modules. If I am only looking to vary pitch,
would there be any advantage of the A155 over the A154? I am only
looking for a very simple sequencer. Also, I know that equipment from
AS can be powered from Doepfer case, can Doepfer equipment also be
powered from a AS case?

Thank you for your time,

Ron....................

hello henf

there are 2 doepfer sequencers, the maq 16 wich is a all in one solution
cause it has midi and cv, 3 rows that can be used in various functions.
and the modular one consisting of actually several pieces.
main unit is the 155 wich you would need in any case.
the 154 can be seen as addon to the 155 and wouldnt be fun standalone.
there is another addon module : a156 that is used to tame your wild
analog sequences into
musical pitch divisions (like the difference between a fretless and a
normal bass guitar)
about compatibility i have no idea !

yours

You need a A-155 sequenser module to use the add on A-154 sequenser
controler. The A-154 lets you choose the 1st and last steps of the
sequence, change directions, one shot sequences and random steps . It
also has a cv clock with pulse with control. It can control 2 A-155
sequencer modules for 2x16 step sequences. For simple sequences you
don't realy need it, the A-155 by itself is a realy good fun module. I
do recomend the A-156 quantizer module so you can keep your sequences
alway's in tune. I also suggest a A-165 trigger modifier to better
control the s&h of the cv outputs.

I think the sequenser modules are great fun and highly recomended.
