For those of you who are wondering what a hotrodded Doepfer looks
like, check out my studio pics at www.stucki.com/krhen/downloads/jdiaz

You'll notice my answer to the eternal gripe about loose minijack
connections.

The A100 cabinet looks great. Did you build it?

How do you like the A6 rack? The issue of polyphony comes up here
fairly frequently. I have a SunSyn myself, but I know a lot of the
other folks on the forum are using the Nord or Waldorf VA instruments.
I suppose they make a lot of sense from a practical standpoint, but I
think if I was trying to be practical I wouldn't have a modular system
either :-)

It's actually a stock rack purchased from a mail catalog, which I
modified by cutting the lower section to make it sloped.

What A6 rack? You mean the Doepfer rack with PS for 2 rows of modules?

I personally own a Clavia Nord Lead and a Waldorf XT, but my big
Doepfer is 4-voice polyphonic (it used to be 6-voice poly). Each
voice has 3 vco's, 2 filters, 1 vca, 1 mixer and 3 EG's. If you
notice the huge MOTM, that one is also 4-voice poly, with 2
vco's/voice. There's nothing like a wonderful, lush string pad 4-note
chord with any of these beasts.....Sweet.

Right you are, amigo. Going from strings to brass or percussive
sounds may take me hours of patching, tweaking and tuning, but man,
is it worth it!

Ohh, I get it! You probably think the 1-space rack on the bottom of
the big Doeph is an Alesis synth, right? It's actually a Microverb
IV, dude. No Alesis synths for me.
