Voltage delay???

Voltage delay???

2008-04-10 by bellenger_a

Hello again,

I was in the bath... and I started thinking again about this Shepard Tone effect...

And I suddenly thought about Voltage Delaying?

I mean, audio delay is possible, trigger delay also..

DOES VOLTAGE DELAY IS POSSIBLE???????

or am I just missing something?

this is really candide naive question?

Best,

Alexandre

To achieve the effect, isnt a step sequencer a good candidate?

It depends on what effect you're after. Bruce Duncan of Modcan
designed a control voltage delay but never released it because he felt
it was too limited. I would have bought one.

Sure, the A-188 BBD delay's have full voltage control.

If you want realy cheap (cost $15,- but sound good) voltage delay's
get a Danelectro Fab Echo and mod it.
Here's a link on how to mod it:

And on the Doepfer DIY page you can find how to CV the delay:

The audio in and outputs of the A-188-1 are AC coupled and cannot be used to
voltage delay (i.e. slowly changing DC voltages).

The planned universal AD/DA module will be able to do this job (i.e. delay
of slowly changing voltages below audio range like LFO, ADSR, pitch bend,
ribbon CV, theremin CV, modulation wheel CV, envelope follower CV ...)

Best wishes
