Hi , is the first time I post a matter on the forum , my English is to bad For translate my wish and my ideas :) I would like to know if it was possible Dieter making a module who accept the exchange ( Convert 1V/Oct in 1.2, Gate/Pulse, Minijack/Banane ... ) with Buchla B200e ? It was nice for persons who have some A100 Modular system , connect with Complex waveform generator model 261e or 259e and other ... Cheers Eric/belempa

But it would need also the "A-185-1" Bus-access ? On the B200e CV/Gate is : Pitch and Note on . I don't know too Why Bananas live in B200e ! :D Regards Eric/belempa

We could manufacture a special version of the A-185-2 with an amplification of 1.2 instead of 1.0. The additional charges will be not too much as only a couple of resistors have to be replaced (120k instead of 100k). The mini jack -> Banana conversion can be realized DIY (nothing but a blind panel with a jack socket and a banana socket internally connected). Best wishes Dieter Doepfer P.S. Why are they called Banana ? I can't see any similarity :-)

Think of a straight banana and the ridges of the banana peel look similar to the metal-spring-like sides of the connector on the banana plug. I don't think I have ever types banana this many times in a message before... -James

Thanks! - I'm in Photoshop about 80% of my workday - sigh... It would have been a lot better work if I had takes the photos myself (the other 20% of the workday), I just snagged them off the net. Wait till I get time to mock up a pic of a VC iPod nano module I would love to have designed for me. -James

There's also the issue of Gate & Trigger <-> Buchla Pulse
I may be a little off on the specifics here (I don't have a scope) but
the Buchla pulse jacks carry the equivalent of a gate and trigger. The
trigger is imposed on the gate level. Bad ASCII art:

That is a very neat method (combining a gate and a trig in one signal) - I didn't know they did that. I imagine that summing both a 5V trigger and a 5V gate would do that. When both are present you would get the Buchla Pulse. The summing would not have to be spot-on to work. I would think a circuit that took a Doepfer gate in, did a rising edge detection to produce a trig and summed it with the original gate would work. -James

To obtain gate and trigger from such a signal two comparators are required (e.g. A-167), one for the "window" between 0 and +5V (gate) and one for +5...+10V (trigger). It would be very easy to built such a module but I'm not sure if there are sufficient inquiries. And if Scott Jaeger has such a module in the planning state we will not compete with him. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer
