Does anyone have a good source for Banana to 3.5mm (or vice-versa)
cables or adapters? While we're at it, how about 3.5mm piggy-back
(banana-style)cables? I've only heard about those but never seen them.

as for 3.5mm to banana cords adapters... i would best recommend a converting patch panel grounded to your banana synth (a Serge or ModCan?).

No. I think he has a cable in mind, which has 3.5mm mono mini jacks but 
also a 3,5mm mono mini socket at the cable side of the jack housing. A 
3.5mm mini cable that can be stacked like banana cables.
