A-190 not working - All LEDs on?

A-190 not working - All LEDs on?

2008-12-06 by kovski774

Hello,

I recently purchased an A-190 second hand from someone who assured me
the module was working fine.

When I plug it in and turn the system on, all the LEDs on the left as
well as the reset and gate LEDs turn on, and stay on. Sending midi to
the input doesn't change any of the LEDs status. pushing the buttons
doesn't change anything.
I've got the low cost 5V adapter installed, and I can see on the bus
board 5v power is present. I'm sure the ribbon cable is installed
correctly.

Any ideas? I've tried both the system reset procedures in the manual,
they both do nothing.

Cheers
Tim

It's difficult to make a diagnosis from the distance. But I suppose that the
module is defective and has to be repaired. Maybe the module was connected
in the wrong way to the bus. Probably some of the integrated circuits have
to be replaced. For details please contact our A-190 specialist Matthias
Marass (keyboards@doepfer.de).

Best wishes
