People,

I have added a picture to the photo section of my (almost)
completed modular. It's a combination of modules from Blacet,
Doepfer, Analogue Systems, Analogue Solutions and home
brew stuff.

In case you are wondering, I went ahead and changed all of the
Doepfer Grey plasdtic knobs to the soft rubber ones used by
Blacet/Analogue Systems.

A complete description can be found at:

http://www.allegrobikes.com/synth.html

have a great day,

peter

hi peter and list: blake here. i run the yahoo serge list. i'm now on
the doepfer list b/c i'm expanding my serge system with a few doepfers,
asystems, and blacets. i sure like what you've done.

i've resolved my power supply problems, for the most part, by using a
+-15v supply and stepping it down to +-12 using a 7812 and 7912
combination and a bevvy of customized jacks and wirings. what i haven't
resolved is rack mounting. as we know, the blacet is the odd man out
here and won't fit into available rack solutions from doepfer, etc.

it looks like you customized your blacet fascia; i can't pick out those
modules so you've done a pretty good job!

so, list, greetings! and...please let know if anyone has successfully
(i.e. not resorted to the drill press) mounted these differing firms
into the same structure (i have a frac rack, which handles the blacet
just fine).

sincerely,

blake

Re: mixing modules

Blake,

Thanks for the kind words. Note: not all of the Blacet modules
like 12 volts! Look closely at his site and where you'll be doing
step down as a result.

I ended up using 3 power supplies, not including the wall wart
for the 16/3, Two Doepfer 12 volt and One Lambda 15 volt which
is being pushed to the rail right now in that it's running my 10
Blacets and the three Buchla Low pass Gates. I may have to
bump that up to a 1.5 amp supply. We'll see what shakes loose.

For clarification, my Blacet list consists of:

4 osc (excellent)
2 Egs (really excellent)
2 processors (terrific)
1 Klang werks (work fine)
1 Final FIltre (OK, not for all tastes)

For the record, I didn't change the faceplates because I do not
like the Blacet art (although I do think it needed a facelift), I did it
to get them to conform to the Doe 128.5 height standard and to
trim them down a little to fit more stuff in.

SIde bar story:

I had the Pleasure of meeting the Founder of Analogue Solutions
at Big City Music today and his pleasent wife. They are on
holiday and elected to come out to the states. They are really
really nice people. His mouth hit the ground when he saw
everything Roger has. An analog arsenal the likes I have never
seen before.

best,

Peter
