planned touchplate keyboard

planned touchplate keyboard

2009-01-29 by astroschnautzer

The poll had very many different suggestions in wich format it will be
done, module or standalone keyboard short or long etc... I would
personally like it to be integrated in my system ie. module format.
But wouldn`t the best way to implement this be to make it both, that
it works in module format (without a keybord "case") and in stand
alone (with keyboard "case").
How does this sound like?

Having a keyboard-like interface standing upright in front of you
seems a bit awkward and against nature to me. Also, your system [case]
needs to be firmly attached to something, since you'd be applying
quite a lot of pressure to the keys... Unless you would put this
module in the base of a Monster Base. Having it as a regular module
would also restrict its dimensions a bit, no ? How many people are
willing to sacrifice like half of a (expensive) portable case to a
touch keyboard ?
But if Doepfer can make it so that you can place this module anywhere
you'd like and offer an optional "flat keyboard casing", fine by me.

There are alot of us who don`t have the expencive doepfer or asys
cases but diy cases . I tend to not have the case upright but in a
"buchla" slyle case, and the keyboard on the lowest row, something
like this. http://www.vintagesynth.com/misc/buchla/buchla200.jpg
The diy route can be a very cheap way to mount your modules.
