...it might not be totally off-topic, but it's certainly unashamed self-promotion. The fact that there is some A-100 on your album seems as relevant to this forum as me using a Gibson Les Paul on a song & posting an album review on the Les Paul Forum. I really don't mean to be objectionable, but think that what makes this forum so attractive is it's narrow scope - there are many other places to post album reviews, discuss tolex for an ARP 2600, or sell Elektron Machinedrums. "what makes this forum so attractive is it's narrow scope" I don't agree, i l like the fact that the scope here is pretty broad, its never been just doepfer but covering the whole eurorack area and other analog/CV/modular topics besides. I personally would prefer a little less of Bakis's self promotion, having a post for each individual review seems a but much, collecting a few together and making a paost evcery few months would be better. But I wouldn't call it off-topic. Ultimately, its "his" list and perhaps he gets away with more than the rest of us. Gibson Les Paul is much more popular than A-100, so of course albums using it would be irrelevant to hypothetical mailing list "Gibson Les Paul". But as A-100 community is kinda small one (comparing to Les Paul community) album reviews are completely okay IMO. I get some inspiration while listening to albums of other A-100 users. hi List, also, as the Group description says: music/album discussion relevant to the A100, is encouraged in this forum! if you have albums using the A100, do post info/reviews about them here. the final target of this musical medium (the A100 modular) is music making! thanks, :) Bakis. Hi Bakis, On re-reading, my message seems less light-hearted than I had intended - at least you don't advertise your gun collection or have a banner reading "God bless America and our men and women in uniform" like Fender Discussion Page owner Chis Greene, who removed me from the group when I complained! also: no one should be jealous of my Doepfer modular. it is not what machines you have but how you use them! the creative output makes the whole difference and not if you have a standard or a huge system in your studio. a huge doepfer system , if it was used only as a dust collector would really mean nothing. Lets change the topic and stay with creative discussion and get back to the A100 stuff like new modules EG: like the A-190-3!? -Interesting!! Anyone have any good ideas for using these MIDI -polyphonic interface capabilities on a modular?!?! :D I have a few but not sure if I have the correct view on this yet as I cannot see a technical write up on the module yet. My goodness, people are anal. It always amazes me how annoyed people get over things like this. If you don't' like it, just delete the email and move on...it takes ONE SECOND! I'm glad to receive links that have people using the a-100 in their music. I wish more people would share their music. Who else is actually being musically productive with their modular? Good for you Bakis, keep doing your thang. Then again, I don't mind if someone wants to advertise a machinedrum for sale on this list either :-)

Shameless self-promotion: Doepfer A-100 and Analogue Systems TH-48 sequencer used on everything post 1998, along with a Korg MS-10 and a Korg Mono/Poly plus a few other bits. Seems like a different life! http://www.discogs.com/artist/Process+(2) A current project which is all about live performance: http://monosynthorchestra.com excuse the crappy website and lack of sounds/updates but you know how it is with these things... Very nice. Good to see/hear some people still have enough courage to forego keyboards, and walk along Morton's path. _g
