very nice!

although: how do you define what midi parameter the cv2 and cv3 responds to? i guess cv2 is velocity...

It's still under development. So it's not yet defined. Probably CV2 will be
fixed to velocity * volume (like MCV4) and CV3 can be assigned to any Midi
control change number (like the MCV4).

Best wishes

given that polyphonic aftertouch (which hardly anyone has got) is the only control left on a per-note basis, it might be an idea to consider having 4 different controllers for the 4 vc4 outputs. pitchbend and mod would be two obvious candidates.

of course, finding room for a dedicated pitchbend amount pot would be even better.

cheers, stu

A190-3 Polyphonic Midi-to CV - 2 or 3 Voice mode?

2009-03-07 by Dan Levey

Dieter,

I would like the A-190-3 to be able to do 2, 3 or 4 voice polyphony. Not everyone is going to have 4 oscs and maybe just want duophonic capabilities. Will that likely be implemented in the final version?

Thanks,

Dan Levey

At least one of the four voice polyphonic modes can be used for less voices
too: the non-rotating mode where the algorithm jumps back to output 1 when
all keys of the keyboard are released and then a new key is operated.

Dear Dieter,

would you please consider polyphonic aftertouch as assignable MIDI controller for CV3? I hava a keyboard capable of poly-at and would like to control analogue synths with it. It´s such a great feature and there´s just not a single cv-interface one could buy that cares for poly-at so yours would be the one... ;-) Of course additional pitchbend and mod wheel CV outputs would be nice too, to make the interface complete and versatile.

Also may it be possible to link two A-190-3 modules for 8 voice polyphony?

Kind regards
pulsquare

Quick question about the maq 16/3 (+ version?)

2010-01-28 by Ancient Eyeball Recipe

I have a trade almost worked out for a blue led maq, and I was reading
up on it at analogue haven (it's been years since I used one, and had
forgotten about some of the things it could do) - and when you go to
the actual page for it, he says
Doepfer 16/3+. Shawn didn't remember what the '+' is for, and I can't
find any reference to it anywhere. Is there really a + version?

Both are very good suggestions!

Out of interest: which one do you use?

I'll see what we can do. The A-190-3 will be completely redesigned (with a
LC display like the A-187-1) and not be available before somme 2010 (if at
all).

We at Doepfer never used this term. The "+" is only used for the hammer
mechanics of our keyboards (in the past there was e.g. an LMK4 and LMK4+
available, LMK4 had weighted keys without hammer mechanics, LMK4+ has a
hammer action keybed).

Thanks - I suspected this, but wanted to verify.

Thank you Dieter, I´m glad to see that user ideas actually are getting through to you. Will have a look at your site from time to time...

Thanks Florian, it´s an old ELKA MK88 here.

how to tell firmware version on maq?

2010-01-29 by Ancient Eyeball Recipe

I'm looking to possibly trade for one, and I'd like to find out what
version it is. I don't have access to it, but I'd like to verify that
it's the latest version if possible.

Looks like you may have to open it to discern bertween rev 1 or 2, if it's
a rev 3 it should have 6 CV outs.

I'm assuming that it's a v3, but how do you tell if it's 3.5?

As far as I know the latest version of the MAQ16/3 is 1.71 (you may contact
Christian Assall/software@doepfer.de directly for details). The display
shows the version for a short time during power on.
