A-148 & A-160 module questions

A-148 & A-160 module questions

2009-03-05 by analog1k

I bought an A-148 Dual S&H from Thomann a good month ago,
although when i power up the modular, the LED's on the A-148
take a little while to become their bright red colour?

And.. how many LED's should be lit up on the A-160 Clock Div
module. /2 and /4 are lit when powered up, is that correct?

Cheers A1k

Mine act in a similar way. Without signal coming in the modules don't really function so I am not concerned. If the light is on, voltage is coming out - the brightness on the S+H is relative to the voltage level at the output. the LEDs on the clock divider means the gate on those outputs is high.

If you patch a trigger or gate into the A160 it will start to do its thing, diving the pulse and counting until it gets to the final stage when it resets. I use mine to get MIDI sync into my modular via the clock out of a Kenton Pro 2000mk2. I also really like patching the gate generated by a keyboard into it and triggering events every 4 or 8 notes etc.

A S&H makes sense only with a two signals applied to the inputs (SMP In and
Trig In). Without these signals the behaviour of the output is undefined and
it will drift to an unpredictibale voltage.

Similar as the S&H. After power on the digital outputs have random states.
